About Tibet
Tibet is a vast nation in central asia, situated on the highest plateau in the world, and home to about 6 million Tibetans. In 1949, China invaded Tibet and devastated Tibetans' social, religious, political, and cultural institutions. What began as a brutal and shameless genocide has evolved into a sophisticated system of fear, repression, and marginalization.

About the nyamrup journal
nyamrup is a publication dedicated to expressing solidarity with the Tibetan people in the ongoing struggle against Chinese domination, and with the worldwide community of people who believe in working together towards a just world. It is my intent to express this solidarity through articles which relate current events and issues in the Tibetan struggle to the world at large, and vice versa; through reporting on action taken on Tibet's behalf; and through publishing information that can be used in raging a ruckus against the Chinese government system.
nyamrup (tib: མཉམ་རུབ་, wylie: /mnyam rub/) means coalition, in the sense of a group of people who come together and rush with unified strength upon a foe. It is intentional that this name carries a sense of “offense” or “attack” on top of the obvious reflection of solidarity.
