Killings by police/soldiers at Sertar
22 Mar 2008 16:10 EDT

This report is one in a series of word-of-mouth reports of the revolution in Tibet. Since China closed Tibet to foreigners, mainstream media has stopped coverage of the ongoing protests despite their continued spread. I hope word of Tibetans’ brave acts of defiance will spread, despite the present impossibility of confirming any details.

Sertar, monastery of the late Khenpo Jigme Phuntsok - Large numbers of soldiers were stationed at Sertar monastery as a preemptive measure as soon as unrest began to spread across Tibet. Tibetans said that there were so many soldiers stationed everywhere that they would be unable to do anything.

An unconfirmed report claims that as many as 40 people were killed last night at Sertar by Chinese authorities.
